MARC BURONFOSSE, DOUBLE BASS

Born in Soissons (France) in 1963. Marc starts the double-bass in 1982, study with Thierry Barbé and then Jazz with Cesarius Alvim, Charlie Haden, Reggie Workman. Study later with Gary Peacock, Marc Johnson et Mark Dresser at the New School of Music. Meets Jimmy Cobb, Steve Kühn, John Abercrombie, Lew Soloff, Jim Hall, Tim Berne, Dave Liebman, Billy Harper... In 1992, he wins « Concours de la Défense » First Price in Paris, with the Bojan Z Quartet. Marc is now part of the Stéphane Guillaume Quartet, Fawzy Al Aiedy Paris Bagdad, Josetxo Goia-Aribe Ensemble... He also worked with the Sylvain Beuf Quintet, Jazz Music’s Victory in 2000, and the Benjamin Moussay’s Trio... Marc leads his quartet since 1995 and teaches Jazz at the XIIIth district’s Conservatory of Paris...
